History
Founded in 2016, NS8 was one of five companies chosen to be part of the fall class for the Mach37 startup accelerator, based in Herndon, Virginia.[3] In December 2016, the company announced the upcoming integration of their flagship product, NS8 Complete Storefront Protection, with multiple eCommerce platforms, and was announced as a new Shopify app in March 2017. [4] NS8 became a signature member of the Merchant Risk Council, a trade organization focused on stopping fraud and securing payments online, in July 2017. [5] After another round of seed funding, NS8 secured funds to expand sales and support in December 2017.[2] Following a hiring boost, the company opened a new headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada in February 2018.[6]
Funding
NS8 was initially funded by the Mach37 startup accelerator program.[3] Following participation in the program, the company raised money from several venture capital firms, beginning with $225,000 from Blu Venture Investments in September 2016.[7] Another $900,000 was invested by Bloomberg Beta, TDF Venture Partners, Hillcrest Venture Partners, and Blu Venture Investors in January 2017.[8] In November 2017, an additional $7.5 million was seeded by Arbor Ventures, TDF Ventures, and Hanna Ventures.[2]
