N LITE
Comment: Good work so far on this article. However, unfortunately, in order to prove notability, an article needs to references 2-3 sources which are reliable, independent, secondary sources, which talk about the subject of the Wikipedia article at length. This means that teh srouecs need to talk about the company itself, rather than its works, and the articles talking about the company must not be interviews (which are considered primary rather than secondary sources, and as such do not count towards notability). The first variety article is the best of the sources you have so far, so hopefully you can find one or two more string sources and we can try this again. Good luck and keep up the good work 👍 Absurdum4242 (talk) 09:12, 27 August 2026 (UTC)

N LITE (エヌライト Enuraito), also known as N Lite Media or Studio N Lite (スタジオエヌライト Sutajio Enuraito), is an American independent media and animation studio based in New York City, New York, United States. It was founded by Christiano Terry in 2020.:[1][2] N Lite has subsidiaries in Tokyo, Japan and Lagos, Nigeria.
The image in their logo is a reference to Odi, the main character of the upcoming flag-ship film Mfinda.
Name
The name "N Lite" was chosen by Terry from the word “enlightenment". He was inspired by Buddhist traditional interpretations of “awakening” to the African meanings of becoming “united with the light.”[3] The name was chosen out of his passion and inspiration from his grandmother’s tales of distant lands and African mythology. The aim is to create a company that honors storytelling as both a cultural legacy and a source of infinite imagination.
History
N Lite Media was founded by Christiano Terry in 2020. Terry has a background in Film/Video and Photographic Arts from his studies at the Pratt Institute.[2] N Lite coined the term afrime (a portmanteau of "afro" and "anime") in 2021.[3]
After visiting Tokyo, Japan in 2023, N LITE created their subsidiary Studio N Lite in partnership with Shin Koyamada.[4] Terry met Masao Maruyama, co-founder of Madhouse, Inc. and founder of MAPPA, who will be producing Mfinda and is a Board Member.[5][6] Studio N Lite is headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan.
Studio N Lite announced the production of their first feature film Mfinda, to be distributed by GKIDS and produced by Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions, and Masao Maruyama. Jaden will also voice a role in Mfinda.[7] Gisaburō Sugii is directing, with co-directing by Arthell Isom.[4] On May 5, 2026, the studio announced that they are partnering with Kodansha to co-develop a serialized manga adaptation of a prequel to the afrime Mfinda. The manga will debut in Kodansha's Biblio Sirius magazine in 2026. The manga is planned to have three volumes. It will be written by Christiano Terry, art direction from Patience Lekien, and illustrated by Tom Lintern. The manga will be produced in collaboration with D'Art Shtajio and Sakura Phoenix.[4][8]
Willow Smith will executive produce and play a voice role in the horror/thriller film Webe: Spirit Detective. Kibwe Tavares is attached as co-director with Peter Ramsey and Gigi Murakami also attached as executive producers.[7]
On June 25, 2025 N Lite announced the animated film Chiure: Child of the Sea will be produced in collaboration with South African animation studio Lucan.
