Nabii Nabwera
Nabii Nabwera Daraja is a Kenyan politician, currently a member of parliament for Lugari constituency, Kakamega County.[1] He is a son to the late Daraja Nabwera and Julia Matakala[2]. His father was a brother to Burudi Nabwera. He is a member of the Tachoni sub-tribe of the Luhya community[3].
Education
In 1974-1981, Nabii Nabwera studied at Mugunga Primary School for his elementary education. He later joined Kivaywa Secondary School in 1982, from where he did KCE in 1985 before joining Musingu High School in 1986-1987 for O level education (KACE).
Nabwera would later join Moi University in 1988, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990[1].
Political career
Nabii joined elective politics in 2007 when he attempted to vie for the Lugari parliamentary seat but lost in the ODM party primaries. He made several more attempts for the same seat, in 2013 and 2017, finishing as runner-up to Ayub Angatia Savula in both cases. In his fourth attempt, in 2022, Nabii won the Lugari parliamentary seat on an ODM party ticket.
Nabii has also served as an advisor to the ODM party leader, Raila Odinga, and Chief of Staff Kakamega county (2013-2017)[4].
