Nada Emam

Nada Emam is an Egyptian writer, novelist, poet and storyteller who holds a master’s degree in environmental sciences, and is an activist and researcher in the field of environmental awareness.[1] Her literary works varied between poetry, theatrical texts, short stories, and long novels, and she was a member of the Heliopolis Literature Club, The Egyptian Writers Union, the Egyptian Story Club, and she died on November 11, 2020 after suffering from cancer.[2]

Nada Imam wrote a number of books that varied between short stories, long novels and poetry, including:

  • Homes of Love (a collection of short stories): It was published in 2012 by the Egyptian General Book Organization. [3]
  • Thawra Azza (theatrical): It was published in 2017, by Yastorun Publishing House, Cairo.[4]
  • Leaving by Order of the King (play)
  • Ghosts of Dell (poetry)
  • Creating a Woman Who Doesn't Look Like Me (novel)
  • When We Met (Poetry)

Awards[edit]

Nada Emam has received many literary awards, including:

  1. Literary Story Club Award 2016 for her story "A Woman Who Doesn't Look Like Me".
  2. Ihsan Abdul Quddus Award in the Short Story Branch in 2018 for her story “The Orange Doesn’t Know Love.”[5]
