Nader Chowdhury (born 1 August 1960) is a Bangladeshi actor, television and film director. He was the director of Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe. [1][2][3] The film received the National Film Award (Bangladesh) in 2016 in 4 categories. [4]

Early life and Education

Chowdhury was born on August 1, 1960, in Dhaka. He completed graduation from University of Dhaka under the Department of Art and Culture.[5]

Career

Chowdhury started in Theatre in 1984 and is a member of Dhaka Padatik. He performed at least seven hundred shows as an actor. He also directed three stage dramas of ‘Dhaka Padatik’: “Slave”, ‘Home at Seven’, and ‘Custody’. Chowdhury’s performance in television or electronic media started in 1992. He started his career as a Director in Television drama in 1995 and he directed around 400 TV dramas and serials.

He directed two movies in his film career: Lal Char (2015)[6], and Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe (2017).

Chowdhury is the Cultural Affairs Secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD). He participated in the Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral election as a mayoral candidate.[8][9]
