The film was supposed to be filmed after the GVM-STR-ARR combo Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. Discussions were done and Pre-production was going on.A few weeks before shooting, Gautham Vasudev Menon had a call with the writer Jeyamohan and heard of a new script and was instantly fond of it. After talking with the producer and Silambarasan, all together they decided to put this project on hold and do this new Project. This Project would be later called Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I and II.
