Nagham Debal (Arabic: نغم الدعبل) is a Syrian qanun player based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[1] She has been covered by regional and international media including Khaleej Times and CNN Arabic.[2]
Early life and education
According to Khaleej Times, Debal graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture before pursuing a career in music.[1]
Career
In October 2022, Debal performed at RELM Fest at The Pointe, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.[3][4] She also appeared in the "Women’s Voices of the Middle East: Qanun Bridge" concert at TODA Dubai.[5]
Awards
In March 2023, Debal received the Musivv Award for "Culture Artist of the Year" for her performance at RELM Fest.[6]
Media coverage
Khaleej Times profiled Debal in 2022.[1] CNN Arabic broadcast a feature on her in 2023.[2] The National and Time Out Dubai reported her participation at RELM Fest in 2022.[3][4] TODA Dubai listed her as a headliner in its "Women’s Voices of the Middle East" program.[5]
