Nancy Melia Banks (born September 12, 1947) is an American watercolor artist. Banks graduated from Bucks County Community College in Pennsylvania where she majored in art. She then earned a bachelor degree from the Pennsylvania State University and a masters degree from the University of Rochester followed by post graduate classes in art from Jacksonville University. Before retiring from Florida State College Jacksonville she taught reading, student success, humanities, design I and watercolor painting classes.

Banks’ watercolor paintings have been accepted in numerous juried shows including Tallahassee, Panama City, and Jacksonville Watercolor Societies. Her paintings have been hung at many prestigious locations including the Cummer Museum of Art, the Jacksonville Art Museum, and the rotunda of the Florida State Capitol building, and have received recognition from Merit and Judges Award to Best of Show.

Nancy is a member of the Jacksonville and Florida Watercolor Societies. Additionally, her work has graced the cover of the menu at the Sea Turtle Restaurant, now Ocean One, in Atlantic Beach, the 2007 Jacksonville Business Journal Book of Lists, and the pages of two children’s books entitled, The Manatee Who Wanted to be a Mermaid, and Lollipops, Lizards, and Literature. Her work can be seen at First Street Gallery in Neptune Beach, Florida.
