Nandigama Estate
Nandigama Estate is a Zamindari Estate situated in the former East Godavari district, Madras Presidency. Presently situated in the Alluri Sitharama Raju district, Nellipaka Mandal, Andhra Pradesh.[1]
History
Nandigama Estate is a part of the Rekapalle Estate. In the early 1900s, this Nandigama Estate was bought by Sri Muthangi Butchiramayya garu. This Estate comprises 10 villages paying a peiskush of 1308/- by 1915.[2] Muthangi Butchiramayya garu belonged to the ancient chieftain clans of Merakaveedhi Telagas in Rajahmundry.[3] Muthangi Butchiramayya garu was the Mokhasadar of Chinnari Gandi village and also held other estates and was a wealthy businessman by the time of buying the Nandigama Estate.[4][5]
Estate Abolition
After the Estate Abolition Act, this estate was surrendered to the Government on 10–09–1952.
