Naomi Emeka Nwokolo is an International development attorney at law, currently serving as the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Nigeria, [1] the country office of the United Nations Global Compact.
She was appointed as UN Global Compact's African Regional Network Council Chairperson under President Muhammadu Buhari's Administration and sits on the Global Network Council (GNC) board where she represents eleven country offices of UN Global Compact Network, Africa[2]
Under her leadership, United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria guided over 130 UN Global Compact member companies[3] in incorporating UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals into their business operations in Nigeria.[4][5][6][7]
Naomi's contribution in the domains of corporate sustainability involves engagement with the private sector through workshops, accelerator programs such as CEO Water Mandate,[8] Target Gender Equality (TGE)[9] and Business and Human rights within the Nigerian context[10] an instance is the sign up of Nigeria's Oil Corporation NNPC to the United Nations Global Compact at the 78th UNGA[11][12][13]

Nwokolo began her career as an ESG attorney with LEDAP Nigeria and the Nigerian Coalition for the International Criminal Court where she was a legal/programmes officer of the Nigerian Coalition before joining the Global Compact.[14]
Since joining UNGCNN, she spoke at the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights,[15] the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit,[16] the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK Nigeria) event on Sustainable Development,[17] 3rd Africa Responsible Business Forum,[18] the Africa Social Impact Summit.[19]
Nwokolo was appointed the UN Global Compact Network Nigeria Executive Director in 2019 and In 2022, she was appointed as the UN Global Compact's African Regional Network Council Chairperson to the Global Network Council (GNC).[20]

Nwokolo has an LL.B degree from the Enugu State University and a Bachelor of Laws from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. She holds a Master of Laws in International Business, Trade, and Development Law from Emory University School of Law, USA.
She's a graduate of the University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, United Kingdom.
