Naomi Neo (born January 25, 1996).^[1] is a renowned Singaporean online personality and social media content creator, prominently known for her content on Instagram^[2] and YouTube^[3]. She started blogging in 2009 and went viral for a blog post she wrote, titled “Mothers”^[4], in December 2010. She then continued to blog professionally from 2011, and over the years, has collaborated with various other Singaporean online personalities, global brands ^[5] and government agencies such as Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). In early 2018, Naomi officially married her husband, and together, they have a son, publicly known as Kyzo. She is currently pregnant with a baby girl and is expected to deliver in early 2021.

Background

Education (2009-2016)

Naomi studied at Damai Secondary School, and further pursued her studies at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) thereafter. She graduated in 2016 with a Diploma in Arts Management.^[6]^[7]

Blogging (2010-2017)

Naomi kick-started her career by writing on her blog^[8] where she publicly shared her personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In 2012, brands began to engage her as part of their marketing efforts due to the positive response she received for her blog posts. In 2014, it was reported that Naomi received 50 to 80 emails regarding sponsorships and up to $45,000 worth of cosmetic and skincare products, hair treatments and other gadgets. ^[9]

Family

Naomi grew up as an only child, and maintains a close-knit relationship with her parents and grandparents. She is relatively outspoken about the love she has for her parents, and they appear on her Instagram^[15] and YouTube Videos^[16] occasionally. Naomi’s family has been constantly supporting her career and her life achievements until today.

Marriage and Children (2018-Present)

In March 2018, Naomi married her husband. He first appeared on her Instagram^[17] in March 2017, and on her YouTube vlog^[18] a few months later when they went to Tokyo. They held a small wedding^[19] at Singapore Botanic Gardens, where their family and relatives attended, followed by a private event on a yacht at Marina at Keppel Bay.

Shortly after the wedding, Naomi posted an Instagram post^[20] unofficially announcing her first pregnancy which sparked much surprise and speculation amongst her followers. She officially announced her pregnancy through her YouTube video titled “I AM PREGNANT!!!”^[21], and gave birth to her son, Kyzo^[22], on June 25, 2018. Naomi announced her second pregnancy through another YouTube video posted in July 2020 titled “THE BIRTHDAY SURPRISE THAT MADE MY HUSBAND CRY”^[23], where she hid her pregnancy from her husband during the first trimester to surprise him for his birthday. He put together a surprise gender reveal^[24] for her, where it was announced that their second child is a girl, and is expected to be delivered in early 2021.

Instagram

Naomi is very active on her Instagram and has over 635,000 followers. She manages the content on her account with a balance of sponsorship advertisements and personal life updates. On her Instagram, she has collaborated with a myriad of brands such as L'OREAL Paris^[29], PUMA^[30], Daniel Wellington ^[31]^[32], Lazada^[33], and many more. She also interacts and engages with her followers regularly by conducting mini Q&A sessions on her stories where she answers their questions along with her personal thoughts. Her husband and Kyzo often appear on her Instagram as she updates her day-to-day life on the account. Naomi has also created a separate account for Kyzo^[34] where she shares his antics.

YouTube (2012-Present)

With over 449,000 subscribers, Naomi actively uploads videos of her personal life and collaborations on her YouTube. She often includes Han, Kyzo and her family in her videos as well. Naomi has collaborated with other local YouTubers such as Night Owl Cinematics^[35] and JianHao Tan^[36]. In September 2020, she was featured in an episode of Clicknetwork’s The Public Investigator^[37], speaking as a prominent social media influencer. She also works on short skits such as her video titled “7 Signs He's Not Into You”^[38] with a team of casts and video producers. In August 2020, she revealed that she has bought her dream car, a Lamborghini Huracán, through a video titled “I Bought My Dream Lamborghini Huracán”^[39].
