Narvar, Inc. is a technology company known for providing retailers and e-commerce brands with post-purchase software[1] used to engage consumers following completion of an online service.

History[edit]

Founded in 2012 by current-CEO Amit Sharma,[2] Narvar rose to prominence within e-commerce for its innovative approach to enhancing customer satisfaction.

Narvar’s focus on refining the interaction between e-commerce enterprises and their customers after the point of purchase marked a notable departure from conventional practices, which heavily focused on the pre-purchase experience as a means of driving sales. To date, Narvar has raised $64 million in venture capital funding over four rounds, the most recent of which was in 2018.[3]

Acquisitions[edit]

In 2019, Narvar acquired Kronos Care,[4] "a Paris-based startup that enables retailers and brands to increase loyalty through branded notification experiences”, to expand their footprint in Europe. This acquisition was preceded by the purchase of Indian logistics startup GoPigeon in 2017,[5] and followed by the acquisition of custom packaging manufacturer Lumi in 2021.[6]

Partnerships[edit]

For their software and business model to work, Narvar relies on a number of strategic partnerships with carriers[1] such as United Parcel Service, logistics providers such as Pitney Bowes[2], and technology providers such as Klaviyo.[3]

Products and Services[edit]

Narvar provides online merchants with a collection of software products that improve the post-purchase experience, helping them retain their customers. Narvar provides online merchants with the following software products:

  • Track: A tool that streamlines the package tracking experience so shoppers don’t need to copy and paste long tracking links frequently provided by the carriers that handle fulfillment.[4]
  • Return: A solution that allows customers to return online orders in a multitude of ways, from scheduling home pickup[5] to dropping off at a partner location such as a Walgreens.
  • Concierge: A service that allows customers to pick up ecommerce orders and drop off ecommerce returns at more than 200,000 locations.
  • Promise: This product is used to provide online shoppers with more accurate estimated delivery dates using a combination of proprietary data and configurable fulfillment rules.
  • Notify: A communication tool that allows online merchants to engage with their shoppers at all stages of the post-purchase journey across multiple channels including email, SMS, and WhatsApp.
  • Monitor: Used to provide retailers and their customer support staff with real-time visibility into every single order’s journey—from the fulfillment center to the customer’s front door.

Recognition and Awards[edit]

Narvar contends[6] its solutions precipitate enhanced customer loyalty, decreased cart abandonment, and increased customer satisfaction. In an acknowledgment of this impact within e-commerce, Fast Company named Narvar one of its "Most Innovative Logistics Companies" in 2021,[7] and one of its "Most Innovative Companies for Social Good" in 2022.[8]

Headquarters[edit]

Narvar's principal office is situated in San Francisco with subsidiary offices in New York City, Atlanta, Austin, Tokyo, and London.
