Natasa Bofiliou (Greek: Νατάσσα Μποφίλιου, 18 April 1983, Athens) is a Greek singer.

Biography[edit]

She completed her primary studies on the Doukas School.[1] She studied political science in the Athens University, where she was also involved in the students' movement.[2] She has a theory and piano degree from the Hellenic Conservatory,[3] and she has attended the Filippos Nakas conservatory as well, getting a degree.[2]

She is an ardent supporter of the Greek Me Too movement.[4] Politically, she identifies with the left, and she is a feminist as well, while participating in and supporting various social movements.[5]

Professional career[edit]

Bofiliou began her musical career by participating in the concerts of Chronis Aidonidis. In 2004 she participated in the audition that Paraskevas Karasoulos's company Mikri Arktos organised, where she got an award, and she sang two songs for the album of the company "Second hearing of Mikri Arktos.[2]

First releases (2005-09)[edit]

In 2005 she released the album "Ekato mikres anases", on lyrics of Gerasimos Evangelatos and score of Kostas Tsirkas.

She had a participation in Stamatis Kraounakis's disc "Pethainontas stin Athina, in 2006.[6] In 2007 she released the cd-single "En lefko" in lyrics of Gerasimos Evangelatos, and in the same year she sang three songs for the compilation "I Genia tou 2010", which included Eleonora Zouganeli and Yiannis Haroulis.

In 2008 she released her first complete disc, "Mehri to telos" (Till the end), with lyrics written by Evangelatos. This disc included new songs and songs from older discs of Bofiliou. In the song "Parea" there was a participation of Kostis Maravegias. She also performed the song "What is this thing called love" (original Greek title: Τι είναι αυτό που το λένε αγάπη) in a disc of Giorgos Psychogios.

She had many appearances in clubs during 2009, with success.

Tours, collaborations (2010-13)[edit]

She released the disc "Eisitiria dipla" under the label of Lyra records in March 2010. In April 2010 she began her summer tour in Gazi, where the first concert there attracted four thousand spectators. She completed 2010 with participating in various discs, in the theater play "Eho ena skhedio" of Themis Karamouratidis, with whom she collaborated, and gave many concerts in renowned nightclubs.

In 2011 she collaborated with Stavros Xarhakos in his concert in Gazarte club. She performed songs of Manos Hatzidakis, Mikis Theodorakis and Giannis Haroulis together with the latter one and Xarhakos. Bofiliou gave some common concerts with Xarhakos and Haroulis that year. She also appeared in various concerts of renowned musicians and completed the promotional tours of her 2010 album.

In 2012 she released the album "Oi meres tou fotos", in collaboration with Alkinoos Ioannidis, while she continued to participate in live appearances.

In 2013 she completed her first decade as professional musician, while participating together with renowned musicians in the solidarity collective named "Agapi re+" and giving her first concert outside Greece, in London.

In October 2013 she released "Ano teleia" album, on the lyrics of Evangelatos and score of Stavros Semsis, initiating thus a new cycle of live appearances around the country.

Protes lexeis, Vavel (2014-16)[edit]

In December 2014 she releases "Protes Lexeis" under the label of Feelgood Records, with lyrics of Odysseas Ioannou, and score of Themis Karamouratidis. In this album Bofiliou and Sokratis Malamas perform the songs.

In the next year she releases the album Vavel, in the score of Karamouratidis and lyrics of Evangelatos, including the songs Vavel, Ta methysia and Ta dika mou tragoudia. In June 2015 she began a summer tour in Greece and Cyprus, together with three successful appearances in London and Dubai. In March 2016 she began to participate in the play "Vavel" in Votanikos live stage, and in June 2016, the eponymous album was released, beginning a new cycle of appearances nationwide.

Continued presence in music (2017-20)[edit]

In November 2017 she stars in the musical theatre play Belle reve. The theatre play was at first performed in Diogenis studio, then re-recorded in April 2018 for a cycle of appearances in Gazi.[7] In the summer of 2018, Feelgood Records released two albums which include the live recording of the play of Bofiliou, Evangelatos and Karamouratidis that is described above. At the same time the digital version of "En lefko" song is released, while the summer tour of Belle reve (meaning beautiful dream) is beginning in Greece and Cyprus.

In October 2020 she released the album "I epohi tou therismou", in collaboration with her two partners in the music industry, Karamouratidis and Evangelatos.[8]
