Nate Jones is the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) director at the Washington Post.

Biography[edit]

Nate Jones is a journalist and the FOIA director at the Washington Post. He has been employed by the Washington Post since October 2019, working in Washington, D.C. Prior to this, he was affiliated with the National Security Archive.

Education[edit]

Jones has an educational background in history and media law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and Russian from Lewis & Clark College, attending from September 2001 to May 2005. He later pursued a Master of Arts in history from George Washington University between September 2007 and May 2009. Additionally, he obtained a Juris Doctor degree in media law from the University of the District of Columbia, specifically from the David A. Clarke School of Law, from September 2018 to May 2022.
