US Air Force:
Upon graduation from North Carolina A&T in 2005, Nathan Click was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. Click trained as an Air Battle Manager at Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL in the 325th Air Control Squadron. Click then went to Tinker AFB, Oklahoma where he served as an Air Weapons Officer and flew more than 700 hours on the E-3 AWACS in the 964th and 965th Airborne Air Control Squadrons. From Tinker AFB Click deployed to Curacao in support of military counter drug missions where he flew in over 40 counter-drug missions resulting in one ton of cocaine and two aircraft seized in support of America’s war on drugs. During this deployment a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti and Click’s AWACS unit was reassigned to provide air support to the Haiti relief effort. Click’s final duty station was Spangdahlem AB, Germany where he served as an Air Surveillance Officer in the 606th Air Control Squadron, a ground based control and reporting center (CRC). Click deployed twice from Germany and served in combat zones in support of Operation New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom and Air Defense of the Arabian Gulf. Click has created a contact network of over 50 direct lending institutions capable of financing any industry sector up to $500M. Click’s firm has qualified business owners and real estate investors for over $20M in total financing through the company’s consulting and planning for its clients. As a business owner, Click has partnered with local community leaders and non-profits to train and support small business owners in creating their start-ups.
Citizen Activist:
After the 2016 election of Donald Trump, Click became increasingly concerned about the future of American democracy. With a few business associates, Click chartered the North Carolina Centrists Coalition, with the goal of combating hyper-partisanship by advocating for the election of pragmatic, solution oriented leaders. In 2017, Click joined Stand Up Republic as the organization’s North Carolina state leader. Stand Up Republic is committed to combating misinformation and disinformation about the voting process and voting results in American elections. The group is also committed to holding Donald Trump accountable for his lies and efforts to discredit and dismantle our American political norms, government institutions, and democracy itself. As the State Leader for Stand Up Republic - North Carolina, Click led an effort to bring awareness to the election scandal in Bladen County, NC in 2018, in which a Republican operative working for then-candidate Mark Harris committed election fraud to influence the outcome of the election. Click also led an independent expenditure effort to elect Dan McCready in the subsequent 2019 special election. In 2020 Stand Up Republic - North Carolina launched an effort to encourage unaffiliated, third-party, and disaffected Republican voters throughout the State to vote for Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential general election. In a bi-partisan effort, Click partnered with Judge Bob Orr, a former state Supreme Court justice and prominent conservative, to lead the campaign. That year, Click also served as a voting delegate for the [./Https://www.cfp2020.us/ Archived 2021-03-02 at the Wayback Machine Convention on Founding Principles], a counter-convention hosted virtually from North Carolina, to protest the renomination of Donald Trump. Click is also a Fellow of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership, where he also serves on the Institute’s Executive Council.
Political Candidate:
In October of 2021, Click announced his campaign to run for Congress via video in the newly reconfigured 6th Congressional district of North Carolina. NC-06 includes all of Durham and Orange Counties, as well as the western portions of Wake County (towns of Apex, Cary, and Morrisville). Click is a resident of Morrisville. NC-06 includes the Research Triangle Park, three major universities (Duke U., NC Central U., & UNC-Chapel Hill) and the Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU). Click is running to help voters “reclaim our voice, and reclaim our democracy.”
Early in the campaign, Click denounced the bigoted remarks of North Carolina's lieutenant governor, Mark Robinson. Robinson has labeled “homosexuality” as “filth.” On Nov. 17, 2021, Click released a short video of his biography: “I’m Nathan Click. This is my story”. On Nov. 23, 2021, Click held a “Gas Price Flash Sale Against Big Oil Profits” and called on Congress to investigate Big Oil companies who have realized enormous profits of billions of dollars while gas prices have skyrocketed by 65% in the Triangle over the last year. Click is also sounding an alarm over the corporate consolidation of key American industries to the extent that this consolidation is hurting the American consumer and taxpayer. On Nov. 23, 2021, Click released this video on the topic.
One year after the violent January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol where Trump supporters tried to overthrow results of the 2020 election, Click called on Democrats in Congress to enforce Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution and ban Donald Trump from running for president in 2024. This section of the Constitution says anyone who has taken an oath to defend the Constitution, who is then involved in an insurrection to overthrow the government, should be banned from holding public office. On January 6, 2022, Click released a video calling for Congress to ban Trump from running.
