Nathan Nyafli (born 24 December 1993) is a retired English professional footballer who played as a forward. He made one senior appearance for Gillingham F.C. in the English Football League and scored with his first touch in professional football.[1]

Career

Youth Career

Nyafli began his youth career with MK Dons in 2007 before moving to Gillingham's youth academy from 2008 to 2012. During the 2011–12 season, he gained experience on loan at Whitstable Town in the Isthmian League.

Senior Career

Nyafli made his professional debut for Gillingham on 27 April 2013 in a League Two match against Burton Albion. Coming on as a substitute, he scored with his first touch to secure the win.[2] This was his only senior league appearance for the club.

Nyafli was featured in a Sky Sports article ahead of Gillingham’s 2013 season, where he expressed confidence and readiness to build on his debut performance.[3] In February 2014, Nyafli was forced to retire from professional football at the age of 20 due to a long-standing hip injury.[4]

Personal Life

Nyafli's early retirement underscored the physical challenges faced by young athletes. After leaving the professional game, he pursued opportunities outside of football.
