National Anthem (Melody/Tune) | |
The National anthem of Pakistan, also known as "Pak Sarzameen", officially became the national anthem of Pakistan in 1954. The lyrics were composed by Ahmed Ji Chagla in 1949 while the lyrics were composed by Hafeez Jalandhari in 1952. The anthem was sung by 11 well-known musicians of that time, including Ahmed Rushdie, Kokab Jahan, Rashida Begum, Najam Ara, Nasima Shaheen, Zawar Hussain, Akhtar Abbas, Ghulam Dastgir, Anwar Zaheer and Akhtar Waris Ali. Before the national anthem, Pakistan Zindabad (Persian) was used as the national anthem.
Stages
The National Song Selection Committee, headed by SM Akram, had nine members, including Hafeez Jalandhari. These included Sardar Abdul Rab Nishtar, Pirzada Abdul Sattar, Professor Chakravarty, Ch Nazir Ahmed, Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari, AD Azhar, Naseemuddin. The committee received 723 anthems, out of which the committee selected the anthems of Hafeez Jalandhari, Hakeem Ahmed Shuja and Syed Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari. Then, in order to maintain neutrality, the three anthems were sent to the BBC to check the compatibility of the lyrics. On August 4, 1954, the Union Cabinet approved Hafeez Jalandhari's anthem as the national anthem.
The poet
The national anthem is written by renowned poet Abul Ahar Hafeez Jalandhari, which was passed in June 1954.

Dispute
For a long time, it was claimed on the English Wikipedia that the first anthem of Pakistan was written by Quaid-e-Azam with Jagannath Azad and the general public started believing it, but later researchers considered this claim ridiculous,[3] after which this claim was rejected, but has been repeated later. Aqeel Abbas Jafari proved in his book that this story is false by doing detailed research on this story.[4][5] The anthem written by Jagannath Azad is as follows.
O holy land!
The particles are yours, brighter than the stars today.
Your dust is brighter today than the galaxy.
Your voice is strong, your voice is on jealousy.
The foot is the one who was chalked for a long time
O holy land!
-
Now your determination is to like a new path.
It's your homeland today.
No one will be able to deliver it now.
The moon is higher than the stars.
Now let's see whether it's Mercury or Samak.
O holy land!
-
The country has been successful today in the ummah.
Now there is no fear of freedom.
The wealth of your country is unaccounted for.
We will benefit from the wealth of our country.
We are not afraid of the West, nor are we afraid of the East.
O holy land!
-
The system of our country is changing today.
There are no slaves in our country today.
Your country is fast on the path of progress.
Azad, Bamrad, Jawan Bakht Shadkam
Now there are perfumes that were poisonous by the winds.
O holy land!
-
The particles are yours, brighter than the stars today.
Your dust is brighter today than the galaxy.
O holy land!
[6]۔ However, historically, there is no evidence that Jagannath's anthem was the national anthem.
