The National Bank of Greece building is a major landmark of Thessaloniki. It is situated in the corner between Tsimiski Street and Dragoumi Street. It currently hosts two bank branches: the National Bank of Greece branch on the south-west side (fronting on Mitropoleos Street) and the Bank of Greece branch on the north-east side (fronting on Tsimiski Street).

It was designed in 1925 by architect Aristomenis Valvis and built between 1928 and 1933 as a part of the Hébrard plan to reconstruct the city following the 1917 fire.[1] Although it was originally planned to host only the National Bank of Greece offices, the design was later changed to additionally house the Bank of Greece. The building was completely restored between 2005 and 2009.[2][3]
