Institutional Furniture Inc. and started National Business Furniture with his wife Julie Mosher.

1975 to 2006[edit]

From 1975 to 2005 George and Julie slowly grew National Business Furniture from a catalog furniture company into a thriving ecommerce business, acquiring companies including Alfax Wholesale Furniture, Office Furniture Center, Factory Direct Furniture, and OfficeFurniture.com[6].

In 2006, the company was sold to TAKKT AG, a German corporation that owns several other companies in the direct marketing and restaurant equipment space. At the time of purchase, National Business Furniture's annual sales were over $120 million[7]

2006 to present[edit]

In early 2008, the company shifted from a drop-ship only model to a combination of fulfillment options by opening three new distribution centers[8] in Austell, GA, Reno, NV, and Cranbury, NJ.

This model served them well as the company's five web sites grew to $45.2 million in fiscal 2008, despite a flagging economy[9]

In 2016 the company moved their headquarters from downtown Milwaukee and unveiled a new showroom[10] in a nearby suburb roughly twenty miles West. The headquarters continues to reside here today.
