National Clean Energy Week
National Clean Energy Week (NCEW) is a week, usually in late September, dedicated to awareness surrounding the clean and readily abundant forms of energy that are powering more homes and businesses across America. The first NCEW was held in September of 2017 when a coalition of businesses and organizations from across the country partnered to advance support of the nation’s energy sector through market development, policy change and technological innovation. While NCEW is predominantly celebrated in Washington, D.C. with a series of events including a Policy Makers Symposium, events also occur across many states annually..[1].
History
2020 Overview This year National Clean Energy Week went virtual. The Policy Makers Symposium expanded to a week-long program.[2]. The 2020 NCEW theme was "Clean Energy Solutions for a Stronger America." [3]
2020 Speakers The NCEW virtual program featured a number of Democrat and Republican lawmakers including Rep. Paul Tonko (D-NY), former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Rep. 2020 State Events In addition to the week-long virtual event held during National Clean Energy Week 2020, clean energy supporters hosted events across the country. States where volunteers hosted clean energy events include: Florida [33], Virginia [34], and South Carolina [35].
2019 Overview NCEW returned to the National Press Club for its third annual Policy Makers Symposium during September 2019. It also hosted a VIP dinner and reception at the Mayflower Hotel and a Young Professionals Happy Hour at The Dubliner.[36]
2019 Speakers NCEW 2019 featured Democrats and Republicans from Washington D.C. and beyond. 2018 Overview NCEW 2018 brought back the Policy Makers Symposium, but also hosted a welcome event, VIP Dinner event, and Young Professionals Happy Hour. The centerpiece of the week, the Policy Makers Symposium, took place at the National Press Club. The VIP Dinner took place at the Monaco Hotel, and the Young Professionals Happy Hour took place at The Dubliner [69].

2017 Overview The first National Clean Energy Week featured a Symposium and Demonstration Fair at the Reserve Officers Association located on Capitol Hill. The event brought together elected leaders, officials from the Trump Administration, and clean energy organizations for a discussion about the need for sufficient, dependent forms of energy [97].
2017 Speakers NCEW’s Symposium & Demonstration Fair was the highlight of NCEW’s week-long series of events in Washington, D.C. Among the lawmakers and government leaders who participated in the events were: Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, Senator Lindsey Graham, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Congressman Derek Kilmer, and former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte[98] .
2017 Steering Committee Members The symposium also included three panel discussions with participants representing NCEW’s Steering Committee.
