The National Freight Index (NFI) in India was launched in 2019 by logistic firm Rivigo to bring transparency and increase efficiency in the freight market.[1]
The NFI, a barometer of the road freight market in India, provides a spot rate for over 7 million lane and vehicle type combinations.[2][3] NFI uses Rivigo's machine learning and pricing algorithms.[4]
To reduce the inefficiencies caused by information asymmetry in the market, NFI enables free access to freight rate information that brings transparency.[5]
