Natu Visinia (born Faamatuina Visinia September 15, 1984)[1] is a Samoan-American professional boxer, mixed martial artist and singer.

Personal life

Visinia was a college football player at Southern Illinois University where he played left guard.[4][5] Visinia said that he has three kids.[6] Visinia said that he has a degree in criminal justice.[7] Visinia said that the Samoan way to pronounce his last name is "Vee-See-Knee-Ah".[8] Visinia said that his dad played in a band that performed Western country music, and Visinia said that he likes country music.[9]

On October 10, 2014, Visinia buried his boxing trainer Charles “Buddy” Bereal who died from a heart attack.[3] Visinia now works as a fitness trainer who trains his clients at Hammer Strength and Fitness in Clinton, Illinois.[10]

Suspension for steroid use

A 2015 article said that the Nevada Athletic Commission temporarily suspended Visinia from boxing due to testing positive for nandrolone in a drug test from the time of his fight with Joey Dawejko.[11]
