Nauman Memon is an American technology executive, cybersecurity strategist, and enterprise IT architect with more than 25 years of experience in IT infrastructure, governance, and digital transformation. He is the founder of Memon Strategy, a technology advisory firm offering fractional CTO services to mission-driven and growth-stage organizations.
Early life and education
Nauman Memon was raised in Maryland. He attended Winston Churchill High School and The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, and later studied at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Purdue University Global, expected in 2026.
Memon’s father, Ali Nawaz Memon, is the author of Pakistan: An Islamic Democratic Vision (Hampton Publishing, 1994), a political analysis of Pakistan’s identity and democratic development.[1]
Career
Memon began his IT career in the late 1990s as a Senior Engineer at Congressional Quarterly, where he designed the company’s first enterprise network and implemented disaster recovery systems. He then served as Director of Information Technology at Resources for the Future, a think tank where he modernized enterprise systems and supported advanced academic computing.
He later held leadership positions at Baltimore Aircoil Company, managing industrial IT environments, and at Focal Point Data Risk (a CDW company), where he led cybersecurity training programs for clients in the energy and finance sectors.
From 2019 to 2025, Memon was Vice President of IT Operations and Deputy CISO at HASI, a $15 billion investment firm specializing in sustainable infrastructure. His key accomplishments included:
- Leading enterprise-wide cloud transformation across Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Overseeing IT integration for mergers and new subsidiaries
- Establishing formal IT risk management, incident response, and compliance frameworks
- Supporting SEC cybersecurity reporting and Board-level oversight
In 2025, Memon founded Memon Strategy, a strategic advisory firm focused on IT governance, infrastructure, and operational transformation for small to mid-sized organizations.
Public speaking and teaching
Memon has contributed to industry thought leadership through public speaking and technical instruction:
- In 2005, he was a featured speaker at VMWorld, presenting on ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks for service management.
