Naveen Kapoor is a senior Indian broadcast journalist and media executive who serves as the Editor of NDTV World. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Kapoor has held key newsroom leadership positions across several of India's major television networks, specializing in national politics, geopolitics, and foreign policy.
Education
Kapoor completed an advanced television journalism course with the Thomson Reuters Foundation and underwent specialized broadcast journalism training in the United States under the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Prior to his international fellowships, he graduated from Delhi University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi.
Career
Kapoor began his career in the early 2000s, working as a senior producer at Star News (now ABP News). He then transitioned to Asian News International (ANI), where he spent over two decades. During his tenure at ANI, he rose to become the National Bureau Chief, directing prime-time multimedia operations and extensively covering the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
In later years, Kapoor moved into executive newsroom management. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief of News Operations at Times Now, and subsequently joined WION as the Head of Newsroom, where he led international relations and global policy broadcasting.
Prior to his current role, Kapoor was appointed as the Founding Editor of the Press Trust of India (PTI) Video Services, where he built the agency's modern digital and television news framework. In February 2026, he took charge as the Editor of NDTV World to oversee the expansion of the network's international newsroom operations.
