Nawar Al-Saadi

Nawar Nadem Rashed Al-Saadi, in Arabic (نوار ناظم رشيد السعدي), (born 19, 1984) is an Iraqi economist and a university professor. He got a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of Bucharest, Romania[1]. He is best known for his book “Globalization of a Free Economy"[2], which was widely distributed in Europe, and American and Asian libraries, where it brought modern theories to the development of the global economy. He has many scientific papers published in European universities and various international journals. Throughout his scientific career, he accomplished unique achievements that made the Romans consider him the best international researcher, and he was honored by the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannes[3].

Early Life[edit]

Al-Saadi was born in Baghdad, a descendant of a literary and educated family, and he is the son of the well-known Iraqi poet Nadem Rashed Al-Saadi, the author of the collections (A Thousand Miles of Pain, the Spray of Dawn, Rojat Al-Banafsaj[4]). His uncles are the late athlete Saad Rashed, a football coach[5], Professor Dr. Yusef Rashed, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Baghdad[6], and Dr. Aziz Al-Saadi, an Iraqi actor and head of the theater department in Iraq[7]. Therefore, this cultural and literary environment had a key role in refining his literary and scientific personality.

He attended the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad in 2002 and graduated in 2006[8], then completed his master's at Beirut Arab University in Lebanon in 2009. After that, he proceeded to continue his scientific career by traveling to Romania, where he completed his Ph.D. in International Economy from the University of Bucharest in (2010/2014)[9].  At that time, he got a distincti at that ties. In addition to that, he passed many courses in human development, marketing, and management, and he is fluent in Arabic, English, and Romanian languages excellently.

Career[edit]

At the beginning of his university education, Al-Saadi worked in tourism, where the first step was in the Babel Oberoi Hotel in Baghdad in 2002, and he held various administrative positions. Later, he left his job in Baghdad, heading to Lebanon in 2006, where he worked in tourism again for a year in Beirut. After that, he started working in the field of media at Rotana channel. Eventually, he became a manager of a Lebanese company specializing in international trade. In 2009, when the security conditions in Iraq comparatively improved, he returned to his country and worked in the government sector, precisely in the Iraqi Ministry of Justice. After a year there, he resigned from his job and traveled to Romania to complete his educational career and study for a Ph.D[10].

In Bucharest, he worked in the academic field, publishing scientific research, and besides that, he was working as the general director of Sama Hotels Group in 2013. After that, he joined a group of European researchers at the Romanian Research Center for International Economic Development Studies, which is affiliated with the University of Buchare,st from 2014 until 2018. Then, he moved to Cihan University-Dohuk in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. He is the director of the research center at the university until the present time[11].
