Needoh is a brand line of American stress balls produced by Schylling. Most of the toys have a filling inside a flexible, elastic outer skin which returns to its original shape after being touched or squeezed. The filling varies by product; some Needohs have none at all.
For example, the Needoh Nice Cube has a maltose gel filling, whilst the Needoh Groovy Blob has a polyvinyl alcohol gel, however the Needoh Mac' n Squeeze is made of silicone.
Incidents
In March of 2025, the nonprofit organization Consumer Reports demanded an investigation into the safety of the Needoh Nice Cube. This was after an incident in which a 7-year-old girl followed a social media trend in which participants froze and then microwaved the Needoh Nice Cube to make it more malleable. This is due to the Needoh Nice Cube’s maltose filling, which varies in ductility in different temperatures. After microwaving the toy, it popped, and the gel got onto the child's face, causing burns.[1]
There have been multiple other incidents, including an 8-year-old getting chemical burns from the gel, also from the Needoh Nice Cube. This has caused concern regarding the safety of the fillings used inside the toys.
