Neelakurinji

Neelakkurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) is a shrub found at an altitude of 1500 meters in the Western Ghats of South India. They grow abundantly in the pastures of shola forests. Their greatest feature is that they bloom once in twelve years. Neelakurinji does not seem to have any characteristics alone, but meeting widely in one area is one of the most beautiful and fascinating sights.
