Neha Singh Rathore is a Bhojpuri folk singer and writer.[1] She gained fame by her song Bihār me kā bā (what is there in Bihar), which was based on the Rap song by Manoj Bajpayee named Bambai Main Ka Ba (what is there in Bombay), during 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election.[2][3][4]
Biography
Neha was born at Jandaha village in Kaimur district of Bihar, from which Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh is less than a kilometre away. Her mother, Champa Devi, is a homemaker, and her father, Ramesh Singh, is an architect in a firm in Lucknow.[5] Neha started singing with her mother in weddings and other Bhojpuri folk songs. Neha completed her lower secondary education from her village, after which she shifted to the block headquarters of her district, Ramgarh, for higher secondary education. After that, she went to Kanpur for graduation; after completing her graduation from Kanpur University in 2019, she started writing and singing Bhojpuri Folk Songs.[6]
