Nel ASA is a Norwegian company with its headquarters located in Oslo.[1] Nel is a globally operating company that delivers solutions to produce, store and distribute hydrogen from renewable energy.[2]
Nel is listed in the Mid Cap Index at the Oslo Stock Exchange.[3]
Subsidiaries
Since 2015 the Danish manufacturer of hydrogen fueling stations H2 Logic belongs to Nel. As well since 2017 the American specialist in electrolysers Proton On Site.[4]
With the Swedish company Powercell and Norwegian Hexagon Composite Nel founded the joint venture Hyon in September 2017. It aims in establishing fuel-cell power vehicles mainly in the maritime sector.[5]
Projects
At the moment Nel is part of several global projects, for example in German H2 Konsortium Westküste, which is operating the first fuel-cell powered train in Germany.[6]
Another project comes with the American manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles Nikola Motor Company. As part of Nikola’s plans to roll out fuel-cell powered trucks in the US and Europe Nel is delivering the necessary hydrogen infrastructure.[7]
