The company, which employs 60+ people, concentrates on building digital products and commercial strategy, with in-house capabilities in consulting, development and service design[1]. In 2020, it was rated the 9th fastest growing company in the North of England by technology advisory and investment firm GP Bullhound.[2]

Through their sweat-equity Ventures division, Netsells have also invested in a number of startup businesses, including share-economy platform YourParkingSpace and B2B rail service provider, Railguard.

In 2020, Netsells became Crown Commercial Service Providers, and they have been key signatories of PWCs "Tech She Can" Charter since 2018.[3]

History

Netsells was founded in 2010 when co-founders Brannan Coady and Sam Jordan met at university in Scarborough. Bootstrapping their business, the pair converted one of their bedrooms into an office, producing websites for local businesses whilst sleeping in the other room.[4] Four years later, the pair moved the business to York in a bid to access a wider talent pool. Here, they set up their headquarters, an office that they still hold today.[5]

In 2018, Netsells Ventures, the sweat equity investment arm of Netsells Group was founded. Through this initiative, Netsells support early-stage ideas and startups as a strategic technology partner and investor.[6]

Netsells are currently ranked the 9th fastest growing company in the North of England by technology advisory and investment firm GP Bullhound.[2] They also received media attention in early 2021 as they were awarded "Large Agency of the Year" in the UK Dev Awards.[7]
