Newton Cinema.[1] is a film production and distribution company founded by Anto Chittilappilly and Sanita Chittilappilly in 2020.It has offices in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles , Mumbai and Kochi.
Newton Cinema[2] has produced two Short films and two feature films in a span of 4 years.
In 2021, Newton Cinema produced Lalanna's Song[3][4][5], a short feature by Megha Ramaswamy and KISS[6][7][8], a Sci-fic drama by Varun Grover. Lalanna's Song was premiered in IFFLA 2022[9] and was awarded Honorable Mention at the Festival[10][11].KISS was premiered in NYIFF 2022[12].
In 2022, Newton cinema announced its third project - Family[13], feature film directed by Don Palathara. It features Vinay Forrt, Divya Prabha and Nilja Baby in pivotal roles. The film was premiered in 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam 2023[14] and since then, it has enjoyed sold-out screenings in many other film festivals[15].[16][17]
Paradise[18][19] directed by Prasanna Vithanage is the fourth project of Newton Cinema. It stars Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran in lead roles. The film was premiered in 28th Busan International Film Festival[20], 2023 and won Kim Jiseok Award for the Best Film[21][22][23]
Both Family[24] and Paradise[25] were screened at the 28th International Film festival of Kerala, 2023[1] in International Competition[26] and World Cinema[27] section respectively.
