Nexters is a developer and publisher of free-to-play mobile and social-network games headquartered in Larnaca, Cyprus. The company ranks within the top 10 most earning mobile developers in Europe..[1]
History
In 2014, Nexters released a real-time strategy game, Throne Rush. Initially, the game launched on social networks, and in February 2014 it was released for Android, and iOS. In 2014, Throne Rush grew rapidly in terms of players and revenue, accumulating 9 million monthly active users.[2]
In 2016, the company published an action RPG Hero Wars. The game was first released on social networks, and later for mobile platforms. The game was well received in Russia and won a number of awards from Russian social networks VK and Odnoklassniki, including Best PC game,[3], Most Epic Game,[4] Best Web Game,[5] and Best Game of the Year.[6] In November 2019, Hero Wars was nominated for the Russian Google Play Users Choice Awards 2019[7]
In 2019, Nexters focused on the mobile segment. As a result, by the end of 2019, the company ranked within the top 10 most earning mobile developers in Europe.[1]
Corporate Social Responsibility
Nexters is known to engage in CSR activities in Cyprus. The company sponsored the building of a playground,[8] supported Larnaca[9] and Limassol Marathons,[10] and participated in a corporate cleanup through the Let’s Make Cyprus Green campaign.[11]
