Nice Swan Records is an independent record label and music publisher, founded in London in 2016.[1]
About
Nice Swan Records was founded by Pete Heywoode and Alex Edwards. The two had previously worked together while Heywoode was running the indpendent label RIP Records, and oversaw Stockport band Blossoms' first release in 2014.[1]
The label’s line-up has included many acts that have subsequently received critical acclaim and award, including English Teacher, who won the label its first Mercury Prize in 2024,[2] and Westside Cowboy,[3] who won Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition in 2025.[4]
The label aims to platform artists from around the UK and Ireland rather than just London. Edwards highlighted that English Teacher were the first band outside the capital in 10 years to win the Mercury Prize when they won the award in 2024.[3]
