Nicholas Deshais

Nicholas Deshais is an American journalist and editor who lives in Spokane, Washington.[1]

Education

Deshais graduated from Portland State University in 2008.[2]

Career

Deshais' work has appeared in Willamette Week,[3] The Spokesman-Review,[4] The Seattle Times,[5] and the Missoulian, as well as on Northwest Public Broadcasting, Spokane Public Radio,[6] OPB,[7] Jefferson Public Radio, KUOW-FM[8] and KHQ-TV.

In 2011, Deshais was named a finalist for the Livingston Award.[9] In 2016–17, he was awarded a Knight-Wallace Fellowship.[10]

His reporting has won numerous awards, including from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia,[11][12][13] Society of Professional Journalists[14][15] and the Utah Idaho Spokane Associated Press Association.[16]

Deshais is currently the editor of Spokane's alt-weekly newspaper, The Inlander.
