Nick Peel is a British Labour politician and since May 2023[update] is leader of Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council. As leader, he is also a member of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and is the combined authority's portfolio lead for the Digital City-Region.[1]
First elected to the council in 2000, Peel is a councillor for the ward of Tonge with the Haulgh in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, and since May 2020 has been the Labour group leader.[2] He was elected leader of the council in May 2023 following that year's local election after the Labour Party took minority control of the authority.[3]
