Nicholas "Nick" Tuzzolino (born January 19, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL). He is the younger brother of Tony Tuzzolino.

Playing career[edit]

Tuzzolino, a Buffalo-native played four years of Junior hockey in the Buffalo area most notably with the Lincoln Stars.[1] He was drafted 196th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, from the Ontario Hockey League. Nick played with the Sarnia Sting and the Sudbury Wolves before turning professional with the Fort Wayne Komets of the United Hockey League at the end of the 2006โ€“07 season.

In the 2007-08, Nick played his first full pro season with the Flint Generals of the IHL, and was selected to the IHL's All-Rookie Team, before he signed with the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League for the 2008โ€“09 season.[2]

After scoring 27 points for the Aces, Tuzzolino was invited to the Providence Bruins training camp for the 2009โ€“10 season on September 21, 2009.[3] After his release he re-signed to a one-year deal with the Aces.[4]

With a successful audition on loan with the Abbotsford Heat to end the 2011โ€“12 season, Tuzzolino was rewared with a one-year contract with the Heat for the following season on July 19, 2012.[5]

On August 13, 2012, Tuzzolino returned to his first professional team, signing a one-year contract as a free agent with the Fort Wayne Komets, now in the ECHL.[6]

On November 25, 2013, He was traded to the Elmira Jackals in return for Jackals D-man Jordan Southorn.[7]

On July 17, 2015, Tuzzolino regained an AHL contract, in returning to the Binghamton Senators organization on a one-year contract.[8]
