Nicolas Garcia is a French composer known for his work in film, television, video games, concert music. He won the Crystal Pine Award for Best Original Score – Video Game at the International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF) in May 2026 for Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss.

Education

Garcia studied harmony, counterpoint, fugue and orchestration at the conservatory, before earning a musicology degree from Paris-Sorbonne University.

Career

Garcia composes for both concert music and screen, two worlds he has inhabited in parallel from the start. His orchestral piece Fantaisie pour orchestre et guitare électrique was among his early concert works.

His screen credits include the Amazon documentary series Biohack Yourself, the web series La Troisième Sœur (2025), and the Tasmanian eco-thriller Pelverata (2026).

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss (2026)

Garcia composed and orchestrated the score for Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, a Lovecraftian investigation game developed by Big Bad Wolf and published by Nacon. The score featured the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, ancient instruments including the carnyx, and electric cello performances by Tina Guo.[1]

The soundtrack was released on April 16, 2026 via G4F Records, available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats.[2]

Garcia's opera is expected in 2027.
