Nicole Dennis is an actress and singer from London. On 9 January 2019, it was announced that Dennis will be a member of the cast for the West End premiere of Sara Bareilles' musical Waitress,[2][3][4][5] beginning on 8 February with the official opening on 7 March.[6] She was previously in the ensemble and understudy for the role of Effie White in Dreamgirls in London's West End directed Casey Nicholaw.[7] Prior to Dreamgirls, Dennis was in The Book of Mormon, also directed and produced by Nicholaw.

Dennis appeared in the first episode of the 8th series of The Voice UK.[8][9] During the audition, three of the four judges turned their chairs and Dennis went on to join Hudson's team after the two performed an impromptu duet of the track "And I Am Telling You" from Dreamgirls.[10][8] Dennis went on to win a battle round against Luke Swatman[11]. Dennis has been reported as bookies' favourite to win The Voice UK 2019.[12]

Dennis lives at home with her mum, brother, sister and her cat.[1] She left school at age 18, and after failing to get into drama school got a job as a waitress.[1] Alongside waitressing she attended many auditions, and after four years got her first part in the West End. Her mother, Sevda, is originally from Turkey.[citation needed]
