His real name is Kumbham Yadavreddy. Apart from being a poet, he is also popular as a translator, narrator and critic. From 1956 to 1964 he did various works under his original name. From 1965, he changed his pen name to Nikhileswar and he along with his other likeminded friends introduced 'Digambara Kavitvam' and became a revolutionary poet in the literary world. He has been honoured by the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for his anthology, Agniswaasa.[1]
Digambara Poets[edit]
As one of Digambara poets, he published three volumes of Digambara poetry from 1965 to 1970.
Virasam[edit]
- He was the founding secretary of the Revolutionary Writers' Association (Virasam) in 1973.
- He was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Government in 1971 under the PD Act (MISA) for writing revolutionary poetry and participating in the civil rights movement. 721 Kalpana Kannabiran, The struggle is its own reward
Jana Sahiti[edit]
- Founder of 'Jana Sahitya Sanskrit Samakhya' (1979-1982) which is a form of literary group.
- An active member of OPDR, Rural Poor Association, India-China Friendship Association, Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation etc.

- As a Guest Editor brought out a special Digambara poets issue of "POET" (English Poetry monthIy - Madras) in 1969
- Edited the Telugu Literary Monthly "Praja Sahiti" during 1980 to 1982.
- Edited and Translated Indian Poetry into Telugu -Bharatiya Kavita - Section of 'Vishwa Kavita' - Volume Published by RANJANI - AG Office, 1991
- Originally wrote and published poetry and various articles in English and Hindi in National Newspapers like Times of India, Hindustan Times, Indian Express, Deccan Chronicle, The Illustrated weekly of India, Dhamrnyug Sarika, Swatantra Varta. Lokemath Samachar, etc.
