Condaganage Nikitha Chalaka Grero (Sinhala:නිකිත ග්රේරෝ: born 27 September 1988), popularly known as Nikitha Grero, is a Sri Lankan educationist.[1] He is the director and chief visionary officer of Lyceum International School, Sri Lanka.[2] He is a prominent scholar in the Sri Lankan international school system where he participated in several countries representing Sri Lanka.[3] Apart from that, he is also the founder and Sri Lankan official for Zhongtong buses in Sri Lanka.
Early life
He was born on 27 September 1988 in Colombo, Sri Lanka as the eldest of the family.[4][5] His father Mohan Lal Grero is also an educationist and former member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka representing the Colombo District. He also served as the State Minister of "University Education".[6] He is the founder of the Lyceum International School which he established in 1993.[7][8] His mother Kumari Grero is the co-founder of Lyceum with Mohan Lal and Coordinating Principal. Nikitha has one younger sister, Nardhya Tharangani.[9]
He completed his education from Lyceum International School, Nugegoda. Then he obtained a bachelor's degree of Commerce, specializing in Accounting and Management from Monash University. Later he completed his Master in Education, specializing in Leadership, Policy and Change from Monash University.[10]
Career
After graduation, he joined Lyceum International School as a teacher in 2011.[11] From 2011 to 2016, he worked as the Deputy Principal of Lyceum School, Nugegoda.[12] Then he worked as the principal of several Lyceum branches across the island including, Lyceum Nuwara Eliya (2012–2014), Lyceum Ratnapura (2014), Lyceum Anuradhapura (2015, 2019), Lyceum Kurunegala (2016–2019) and Lyceum Wattala (2018–2019).[13]
Meanwhile, in 2010, Nikitha founded NCG Holdings. He is the sole dealer and official agent for Zhongtong buses in Sri Lanka. During the same time, he founded NCG Express Private Limited which operates a fleet of Super luxury, semi-luxury, and standard vehicles.[14] In addition to them, he is also the founder and director of Next Click Events, the subsidiary company specializing in event management, Security and Printing as well as NCG Mining, a mining company.
On behalf of his service in education, the annual cricket tournament between two branches of the Lyceum international school chain, Lyceum Nugegoda and Lyceum Panadura was named as 'Nikitha Grero challenge trophy' which has continued since 2015.[15]
