Nikki Giovanni Watson (born June 22, 1976) is an American interior designer, television personality and philanthropist who started out her real estate career as a flooring salesperson in 2008. Since then, she became the owner of the Largest Home Staging Company in the United States and has been featured on several television networks on design including HGTV, Hulu, Discovery and Own Network. Nikki Watson is the recipient of The Dallas Morning News Texan of the Year and The Metrotex Association of Realtors Affiliate of the Year Award.

Early life and education[edit][edit]

Watson was born Nikki Giovanni Hunt on June 22, 1976, in Galveston, Texas. Her mother, Marilyn Hunt and father, Gilbert Hunt, were young labor workers in the South Texas area and named their daughter after the revolutionary poet Nikki Giovanni. Her sister, Harriet Hunt, is also a designer and hairdresser in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Nikki's parents divorced when she was 17. She was married to her high school boyfriend at 18 years old and gave birth to twin daughters the same year.

Watson attended high school in Dallas, Texas and graduated in 1994 from W.W. Samuell High School. She later attended college at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1996 and studied finance.

Career[edit][edit]

Nikki Giovanni Watson runs the interior design firm The Design Quad, which she founded in 2018. The firm provides Home Staging, Interior Design, Flooring and Remodeling Services.

Watson is married to Roosevelt Watson III. The couple live in Dallas Texas with their dog Pepper. Together the couple have a blended family of eight children and five grandchildren. Nikki created a nonprofit in 2022 to ramp up the work she was doing in the community. The Restart Foundation creates jobs for women recently released from prison or rehab in the DFW area.
