Channel got started from an idea to get from Latvia to China without any money while sponsoring the trip with a harmonica, as a street musician. But as in 2021, due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, it was impossible to get a visa for the intervening countries, the furthest point from Latvia where it was possible to travel was Turkey, so a choice was made to travel to Turkey.
