Nima Asgari (Persian: نیما عسگری‎, born January 21, 1982) is an Iranian film director and cinematographer known for his environmental and wildlife documentaries.[1][2][3] A graduate of environmental science from the University of Natural Resources, Asgari began his career as a researcher and cinematographer focusing on endangered species in Iran. His documentary Ranger and Leopard (2017), co-directed with Fathollah Amiri, won Best Film in the "People and Nature" category at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival in the USA (2017)[4] and Best Independent Production at the Green Screen film festival in Germany (2018).[5][6] He was also a jury member of the Matsalu Nature Film Festival in Estonia.[7]
