Nimal Chandarathne Korale , is a wealthy Sri Lankan businessman.[1] and a philanthropist [2]. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Komuthi Engineering Services a construction company which is one of Sri Lanka's Leading construction company which holds an ICTAD (Institute of Construction Training and Development) Grade C-1 from 2011.

Korale is the founder of NIK (Nimal Inoka Korale) Foundation which aims to help the betterment of the local communities every year by providing aid to around 2000 children per year by providing necessities for children around the country for the last 11 years.[3]

Sri Lanka Basketball Federation (SLBF)[edit]

During 2011-2013 Nimal Korale was appointed as the Vice President of the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation (SLBF) which was under the patron of the Hon Sarath Ekanayaka who was the Cheif Minister of Central Province at that time.[4]

Probe Against FCID[edit]

On September 14th, 2016 Nimal Korale logged a complaint to the Special Investigation Unit of the Police Headquarters against the notorious Senior Deputy Inspector of Police Ravi Waidyalankara for demanding a sum of 75 Million in exchange for closing financial crimes case against him. The complaint telecasted by SP Ruwan Gunasekara states since Nimal Korale refused to pay the demanded sum by the Senior Deputy Inspector of Police so Senior DIG carried on the investigation in a partial manner detrimental to Nimal Korale.The Summary of the investigation has been forwarded to the Attorney General for further guidance on the 5th April 2019.[5]
