Nina Furu (born 2 August 1962[1]) is a Norwegian journalist, author and lecturer.[2]
Furu has worked on Norwegian websites since 1995, was internet editor for the magazines Det Nye and Foreldre & Barn and later editor of the web portal for Orkla Media, Hjemmet Mortensen and Egmont; Hjemmenett (1997–2001).[3]
Furu is now majority owner, lecturer and course leader for Webgruppen AS, who runs courses in web communication and digital marketing for professionals in Norwegian companies and organisations.[4] Webgruppen also runs international certification courses in digital marketing from Digital Marketing Institute. [5]
Background[edit]
Nina Furu grew up in Ammerud, Oslo. She attended Oslo katedralskole, and studied sociology and pschology at Universitetet i Oslo. After working as a teacher, she began to write for the publications Digi.no, Det Nye, Allers and Dine Penger.
In 1995, she started Barnesiden, one of Norway's first websites for children and also started the related Ungdomssiden before this was incorporated into Doktor Online. Furu became the online editor for many Hjemmet Mortensen-magazines, and was editor for the web portal Hjemmenett when it was founded.
After the so-called dotcom bubble burst, and Hjemmenett was discontinued, Furu took over education in the web and web communication. She established the Nettredaktørskolen in 2003, first as part of the courses at Westerdals School of Communication, and since 2007 as an independent course offered by Furu's company, Webgruppen.
In addition to running courses and teaching, Furu writes course books on many aspects of running companies, digital marketing, and web communication.
Furu is married to Jakob Thyness, who is also part owner of Webgruppen.

She has also writted hundreds of articles for internet magazines and on her course blog, Ninafuru.no
