Nir Salomon (born 1978) (Hebrew: ניר סלומון‎) is an integrative gastroenterology specialist, researcher, co-founder & Chief of R&D at Evinature, and founder and director of Sheba Hospital’s Integrative Gastroenterology Unit[1].

Salomon was born in Boston and raised in Jerusalem. He is best known for leading research programs for the development of neutraceutical treatments for ulcerative colitis, namely CurQD.[2]

Clinical and medical fields of interest

After completing his studies in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Israel he studied under Prof. Liang Chao, head of the gastroenterology department at the Chengdu University Hospital of TCM.

Salomon went on to establish the Integrative Gastroenterology unit at Sheba Medical Center, collaborating with Professor Shomron Ben-Horin on a research project for ten years to develop nutraceutical therapies for Inflammatory Bowel Disease[3]. They conducted clinical trials from 2011 to 2022 on the use of CurQD, a combination of curcumin and Qing Dai, on patients with UC.[2][4]

Salomon presented his international, investigator-initiated placebo-controlled trial on CurQD at the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), where it won the Poster of Distinction award.[5]

Evinature

In 2021, Salomon and Ben-Horin founded Evinature to provide therapies for IBD patients[6]. Salomon currently lectures at medical conferences, promoting integrative therapies.
