Nitin Khanna is the CEO at Mergertech, an investment bank based in Portland, Oregon. Mergertech specializes in internal Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory services for tech professionals and startups[1]. Aside from his professional career, Nitin Khanna is a passionate investor and entrepreneur who has invested in a number of different startups and industries throughout his career. For instance, he recently invested $5 million in a company called iSos[2], which is based in Mohali, India. Education
Nitin Khanna was born in 1971 in Chandigarh, India. He completed his early education at The Lawrence School in Sanawar, India, but he moved to the United States as a young man. Upon taking up residence in Portland, he received a B.A. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University[4]. He then decided to go on and receive a master's degree at Purdue in the same field.
Career
Saber Corp, Khanna's first company, was an industry leader in the Portland area during his time of leadership from 1998 until 2008. This company primarily provided services to government agencies and it provided the framework for creating driver's licenses, renewing automobile registration, signing up new voters, and helping unemployed people find work.
Electronic Data Systems (EDS) bought Saber Corp in 2007 for $420 million, three times its initial value. Nitin Khanna remained the head of Saber Corp's government business operations until EDS was sold to Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 2009. Upon the sale of Saber Corp to HP, Khanna left Saber to found MergerTech, which is an international acquisition and merger advisory firm.
At MergerTech, Nitin Khanna operates as the CEO where he provides businesses around the world with advice on how to handle mergers effectively, and this company has presided over notable acquisitions such as AppThwack by Amazon Web Services, Springbrook by Accela, and ArcTouch by Grey. Khanna has also been a major player in the development of the recreational marijuana industry in his state via his involvement in companies such as Cura Cannabis Solutions and Select Cannabis Oils.
