Nitin Saini (born 18 November 1983) is an Indian ultra-distance cyclist, ultra-runner, fitness promoter, and businessman from Kota, Rajasthan. He is known for completing major international and national endurance cycling events including the NorthCape4000 (4,200 km across 7 countries), London–Edinburgh–London (1,500 km), and a 3,650 km Kashmir–Kanyakumari ride in 14 days. He serves as the Director of Sumangalam Group, a real-estate development company in Rajasthan.

Early life and education

Saini was born and raised in Kota, Rajasthan. He completed his schooling at Swami Vivekanand School and later at MBVB School in Kota.[1] He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science) degree from the Engineering College Kota (2002–2006).[2]

After graduating, he worked as a software engineer with Electronic Data Systems (EDS), an HP company.[3]

Business career

After spending a few years in the IT industry, Saini returned to Kota and joined his family's real-estate firm. He currently serves as the Director of the Sumangalam Group, overseeing projects in Kota and the Hadoti region, including Shubh Arena and Shubh Sanskaar Villas.[4]

Endurance sports career

Cycling

Saini has participated in several ultra-distance and self-supported cycling events:

  • In 2022, he completed the London–Edinburgh–London (LEL) 1,500 km ride, finishing ahead of approximately 1,900 international participants.[5]
  • In March 2023, he cycled 3,650 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in just 14 days, averaging over 260 km per day.[6]
  • In 2024, Saini completed the NorthCape4000 event, cycling 4,200 km across seven European countries from Italy to Norway in 20 days.[7]
  • In March 2024, he participated in the ISAN cycling event, completing 2,024 km in 186 hours.[8]

Running and community fitness

Saini is an active ultra-runner and conducts weekly group sessions for runners in Kota. He heads **Team Cyclotrots Kota**, a fitness community promoting long-distance running, cycling, and safe training practices.[9]

Awards and honours
