Nivas Adithan is an Indian film actor who has appeared in several Tamil-language films, including Naanga (2012) and Kaaka Muttai (2015).
Career[edit]
Prior to acting in films, Adithan, the son of former actor Adithan, had been working at Reliance Petrochemicals in Jamnagar. He returned to Chennai and it took him eight years to get a break, before being recommended into acting roles by choreographer Kala, after an impressive performance on the dance show Maanada Mayilada in 2010. Adithan subsequently made his acting debut in Tamil films through Selva's Naanga (2012), appearing in the lead role alongside fellow debutants Sanjay Bharathi and Muneesh.[1] The film opened to mixed reviews, but Selva nevertheless signed the actor for his next feature, Naadi Thudikuthadi. The film was shot completely in Fiji, and is yet to have a theatrical release.[2]
Adithan has also appeared in small roles in Ram's Thanga Meenkal (2013) and in the critically acclaimed Kaaka Muttai (2015).[3] He was then seen in a supporting role in the award-winning production Radiopetti, which won the KNN Audience award at the 2015 Busan International Film Festival.[4][5] Adithan also played a role in the multi-starrer Chithiram Pesuthadi 2.[6] He later played one of the male leads opposite Gayathri Raghuram in Yaadhumagi Nindraai (2020).[7] He will next be seen in Kattam, directed by Rajan Madhav, whom he worked with in Chithiram Pesuthadi 2.[8][9]
