Noah Fischer grew up in Sigmaringen and studied saxophone (jazz and popular music) at State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart with Bernd Konrad. Another crucial influence was Karsten Gorzel, with whom he took private lessons. After that he became engaged in several productions by Stage Entertainment, among them „Hinterm Horizont“ and „The Hunchback of Notre Dame“, and performed with classical orchestras as well as notable rock, pop, jazz and soul artists. [1] Since 2006 Noah Fischer lives in Berlin, Germany.
Since 2011 he is the saxophonist with the famous German musician Udo Lindenberg. [2] He was responsible for the relaunch of the so-called „Pustefix Bläser“ (brass section of the orchestra), writes arrangements and participated on the highly successful albums „Stärker als die Zeit”, „MTV Unplugged – Live aus dem Hotel Atlantic“, „Stärker als die Zeit - Live“ und „MTV Unplugged 2 - Live vom Atlantik“.
In 2016 Noah joined the band of the Swiss electronic duo Yello. The first concerts in Berlin were released on CD and DVD and were followed by a tour as well as a performance at the renowned Montreux Jazz Festival.[3] Besides that he is working as a composer and developer of live shows for business companies. At the moment, Noah is touring with his solo shows and working on his first solo album. [4] His shows are headlined „Wonderful World“ with the premiere taking place in the sold-out „Stadthalle Sigmaringen“ on September 28th, 2019. [5]
Style
Fischer is known as a very multifaceted and versatile musician. He plays sopranino-, soprano-, alto-, tenor-, baritone- and bass-saxophone, Eb-, Bb- and A-clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, piccolo, EWI, piano and keyboards. He speaks of himself as „pop saxophonist who incorporates some jazz elements.“[6]
Influences
Noah cited the attendance of a concert by Al Jarreau as a determining factor for his decision to become a professional musician. [7] But also popstars like Michael Jackson and jazz saxophonists like David Sanborn made a big impression.
